Tell us what you are building in plain English. The more specific you are about audience, tone, and product, the closer the suggestions land to a name you would actually register.
Our prompt parser pulls out keywords, intent, and tone, then asks a language model for candidates that fit. Results are filtered through our content rules before they reach the next step.
Every candidate is checked live against the registry's own data via RDAP. We filter out names that are taken before you ever see them, and link the available ones straight to a registrar.
The default workflow on most domain registrars is: think of a name, type it into the search box, get told it is taken, scroll through a wall of upsells, try a slight variation, repeat. After ten rounds you have not built a shortlist, you have just learned which ten names are unavailable. NameRobo flips the order. We start by understanding what you are building, generate names that fit it, then check availability before showing you anything. The end result is a list of names that actually reflect your project and that you can register today.
Availability data comes from RDAP, the Registration Data Access Protocol. RDAP is the modern replacement for WHOIS and is published directly by the registry that runs each top-level domain. Reading from RDAP means the answers are authoritative and current — there is no cache layer between you and the source of truth. For TLDs whose registries do not yet expose RDAP, we surface that limitation clearly rather than guessing.
We do not sell domain names. NameRobo links out to a registrar of your choice when you find a name you want to register. That keeps the incentives clean: we win when we show you names you would not have come up with on your own, not when we lock you into a particular shopping cart. If you already know the exact name you want, the single-domain checker, bulk checker, and registrar price compare tools are right there in the menu.
Yes. There is no account, no trial, no credit card. We earn an affiliate commission when you click through and register a domain at one of the registrars we link to. That commission does not change the price you pay.
Not every TLD's registry publishes RDAP yet. Rather than guess at availability for those, we mark the result as unsupported so you know to verify it directly at a registrar before relying on it.
At the moment of the check, yes — the answer comes straight from the registry. Domain availability moves quickly though, especially for short or trendy names, so always re-check inside the registrar before you complete a purchase.
Yes. The AI search defaults to a mix of .com, .io, .co, .ai, .dev and others depending on your prompt. The instant and bulk checkers handle any TLD we can resolve via RDAP.
